last blog ever!
This is the last blog that we ever have to write! Crazy! Anyways this week in class we handed in project three and started on the last project. The last project seems like it will actually be the hardest but fun at the same time. I still do not fully comprehend what we are supposed to be doing because in class today i apparently had all the wrong things to do for the project. The movie should be kinda easy. i still do not totally understand what we are supposed to be doing for this. I am just happy that we do not have to give a oral presentation. I do not like doing those! Also, it is going to be a pain keeping track of our cell phones for a week. I use my cell phone alot so it is going to be annoying writing down every time I use it.

week ending!
This week in writing we were supposed to turn in our rough draft of our paper. I was very busy this week and didnt get to finish the whole paper. In class I made a lot of revisions to the paper, so basically I have to redo the whole thing which is kinda bad. The activity we did on thursday was very helpful and I learned alot of helpful hints toward the paper. This paper seems alot harder than the rest of them since we have to site all our sources and have quotes in the paper. It is the first paper that we have had to do this for so it is a little complicated. Hopefully it gets better though and on tuesday it helps me more before we have to turn it in on thursday!

weeeek ending!!
This week we started to decide our topic for the paper. I am doing project 3 on Lowering the Drinking Age from 21 to 18. I am very interested on this topic because it is something that involves me. Since I am 18, I want the drinking age lowered because then I could drink legally now. We did many brainstorming activities in class this week that will be very helpful with the project.
Also this week for homework we had to write a response to an article about why men shouldnt marry career women. I am very against this. There is nothing wrong with women having money and working. I do not feel that it would make any difference in the marriage if both spouses work. I think that would help things financially. I thought that the article was very bias and made women sound like they are slaves for the family.
Drinking Age
1. The United States should change the drinking age from 21 to 18 to match the rest of the world with their drinking ages at 18 and even sometimes 16.
2. The only country with the drinking age of 21 is the United States
If you are able to vote, smoke and be in the army you should be able to drink
Many kids in college drink and if it was legal at 18 they would be much more responsible about it and not drink just to drink and get drunk
3. The point I want to counter argue is that the one about kids in college drinking just to get drunk
4. If it was legal and since it would be a new thing, more kids would drink. Also kids will still drink just to get drunk.
5. It might seem that even with the drinking age 18 some kids would still drink to get drunk and abuse drinking, the numbers of kids getting wasted would be lowered
6. However changing the drinking age to 18 would make it a more social event and more common so kids could drink whenever they want and they wouldnt abuse it all at one time.
7. It might seem that even with the drinking age at 18, some kids would still drink to get drunk and abuse it. While that may be true, changing the drinking age to 18 would make it a more social event and much more common and kids wouldnt abuse drinking all at one time.

Creative Practice and At a Glance
Creative Practice:
There are two main things that I have seen in the news a lot. The first is the presidential election. There is so many stories covering this in every newspaper locally and nationally. Another thing that has been in the news for awhile now is the economy. It has taken a major fall and that is one thing we are all hearing about constantly. I have discussed the issue of the presidential election a lot with friends, peers and family. I think that you could write a paper on the presidential election and pick one of the canidates to make an argument for. For the presidential elections you would have to get information from credited sources about Obama and McCain. If you did the economy, you could get information from the stock markets, the part of the government that deals with money, and credited newspapers and websites.
At a Glance:
Presidential Election
1. I am very interested in the presidential election. It is not my passion, but it is still something I am very curious to learn about.
2. Using the presidential election, I would argue for either electing Obama or McCain.
3. It would be very easy to get information about these canidates, but the only thing is you would have to be careful and make sure it is truth. Some places you could find info would be on their websites or you could search the republican and democrat parties and see where they stand.
4. It does and it does not. I do not like to get into politics all that much, so i would probably not write my paper on this. I think it would get boring after awhile.
Economy
1. I am interested in knowing what it is going on in the economy right now and what is causing all the problems. It is something that i am very interested in learning more about.
2. It would be hard to argue a position on this topic because you cant really say if you are for or against the economy doing really bad right now...obviously everyone is against it.
3. There would be plenty of places that you could find information on this topic. You would be able to go to government websites.
4. This would be very appealing to me because it deals with business and money and I love learning about that kind of stuff. I would love to know what exactly is happening and why.

this week in class
This week in class we brainstormed for project 3. It seems like it should not be a very hard project. I am looking forward to writing about something and trying to persuade others about something. I am not sure what I am going to do my project on yet though. I want to do something I am interested in so it is easier to write such a long paper. Since our last project had to be 4-5 pages, having this one that long shouldn't be that tough since we already had to do it. I hope we get some more help on the project though because I do not totally know how to begin my paper yet.
